I saw her play last night and it was fucking incredible. One of the best shows I have seen. It was in a beautiful theater with perfect sound, and they completely killed it. Drums, trombone, two violins and the arranger of the album on everything else (banjo, guitar, woodwinds, etc), plus some Newsom siblings onstage at various points doing extra percussion. They did incredible new renditions of Inflammatory Writ and Peach Plum Pear, along with Emily, which was great because Emily herself was playing violin for it. She is so damn cute, and OMG I totally sat near ~*~*Andy Samberg*~*~ I just want tonight to be that show again and again and again.

the fox theater? that's where i saw leonard cohen. SUCH A GOOD VENUE for that type of music.

Yeah it was at the Fox. It was my first time there and I really liked it. They had assigned seating, so everyone I went with got split up, but I was only 5 rows back from the front, pretty much in the very center and could see everything perfect. Gah, I can't get that show out of my head.
